Couple work is a separate discipline from individual work. Central to the whole training is the idea that relationship is the client.
This programme offers an opportunity to learn a style of couple work unique to re•vision. It draws on the diverse experiences of the trainers to create an imaginative and coherent course that condenses the essentials of couple work.
A two part training programme for qualified practitioners to work with couples. The certificate course is over 8 weekends and the following diploma is a further 6 months. The certificate course has no written requirements.
The aim of this programme is to offer:
- a comprehensive framework to understand and work with the complex dynamic of couples
- a transpersonal perspective that understands difficulties within a relational context
- a methodology that draws on systemic, developmental, gender, gestalt and psychosynthesis
- practical skills for working with troubled couples such as circular questioning, contextualising and reframing, use of paradox, communication, contact and dialogue as well as the use of story and imagination in evocative couple work
- a learning community within which to develop and enhance professional practice to take advantage of agrowing market for skilled couple workers.

The training is intended for qualified counsellors, psychotherapists and those from the helping professions with suitable therapeutic experience.

The focus is on building understanding and skills through experience. Some group supervision and coaching of couplework will be included in the weekends and individual supervision will be available for those with established couples practice.
The diploma extension for Transpersonal and Integrative Couplework consists of supervision and tutorial support for writing a case study.
trainers
Chris Robertson has done systemic family and couple training in 1980, been working with couples since and has been offering training in couplework for 20 years.
Lesley Brown has trained in a Gestalt couplework and completed further integrative couple training. Couplework is now the major part of her psychotherapy practice.
Nicky Marshall has a diploma in couplework and works extensively with couples in her practice.
